European Launch Of Foldable Electric Cars Set For 2013.
Researchers at The Management and Information Technology laboratory have developed a folding electric car that is set to be launched in Europe in 2013.
The car is said to be able to fold in on its self once parked to become even smaller and will have wheels that can rotate 360 degrees to allow the driver to to park with much greater ease. The car, part of MIT`s smart cites programme is intended to be launched as part of a Europe wide car sharing programme but it is unclear at present exactly how many cites will take part but both Barcelona and Berlin have show interest. The car, dubbed the Hiriko is powered by a single electric engine and is said to retail at $16,210.
Would you be interested in such a car and do you think that a “car sharing scheme” would work?
