London Designers Bio-Battery Concept For Mobile Phones.
Daizi Zheng, a London based designer has come up with a very innovative phone concept that will reduce energy and electrical waste by allowing users to charge their phones simply by pouring soda or fruit drinks into a specially designed cylindrical container attached to the back of the phone (as seen in the picture below).
The process works using a chemical board in the device which converts the enzyme in sugary drinks into electrical current leaving only water and oxygen left once the sugar and carbs have been extracted, the water/oxygen bi-product can then be simply poured out and refilled with soda when necessary – see image bellow…
The London based designer came up with the idea following a project by Nokia to envision an Eco-friendly phone for the future. The makers say that these bio-batteries are fully biodegradable and can last up to three or four times longer than normal lithium batteries on a single charge.
